The applicant for this visa must genuinely intend to support and look out for the overseas student’s best interests. A parent, someone with custody of the student, or a relative over 21 who has been nominated in writing by a parent should all be on the applicant’s list of qualifications. Except in exceptional circumstances, family members under the age of 6 cannot be brought.

Financial Criteria for Applicant:
It is necessary to establish that the applicant has the financial resources to cover their living expenses, educational charges, and the expenses of any family members travelling with them for the duration of the course. In addition, they must have no outstanding debts to the Australian government.
Applicant Health Insurance:
The applicants for student guardianships should also be required to show proof of adequate health insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in Australia. It may be an overseas visitors health insurance policy or a health insurance policy from Australia or the home nation (OVHC).
DOCUMENTS PROVING LEGAL IDENTITY AND RELATIONSHIP::
Guardians of students should always have their identification credentials and proof of their relationship with the student on hand.
GENUINE TEMPORARY ENTRANT REQUIREMENT:
The department will take into account your personal circumstances in your home country, your immigration history, and everything associated with your plan to stay in Australia in order to determine whether you fit the requirements of the Genuine Temporary Entrant Requirement.
Conditions that are Applicable once you are Eligible for your Visa:
- You are prohibited from working
- You must continue to have your authorized foreign visitor health insurance.
- You cannot apply for any additional Australian visas.
- Australia's obligations under the 1951 UN treaty must be met.
- Without taking the nominated student with you and informing the department that you have made the necessary arrangements for the student, you are not permitted to leave Australia.
