An overview of Working Holiday Visa
For young persons between the ages of 18 and 30, the Australian Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) is a short-term visa that enables them to take long vacations in Australia while also working part-time jobs for a 12-month period.
What you can do on a Working Holiday Visa
- Stay, leave, and come back to Australia several times for up to a year.
- Enrol in a course of study that lasts no more than four months.
- Work for each employer in Australia for a maximum of six months.
- After working for three months in the hospitality, agriculture, tourist, forestry, and fishing industries in northern Australia
- Apply for a second work and vacation visa.

As long as your visa is valid, you are free to come and go from Australia as often as you choose.
Stay lawfully in Australia for the duration of the appointed post (with maximum stay of 2 years)

Important Things To Know Before Applying The Temporary Activity Visa (Subclass 408)
If you are applying for a visa in Australia, you must be sponsored by a sponsor who is either a sponsor who passes the sponsorship test or an authorised sponsor for temporary activity.

Requirements for Applying for your first Working Holiday Visa
Provide evidence of a genuine visitor
When submitting an application, be outside of Ausrtalia
Have a valid passport from a nation that is permitted to participate in Australia’s Work and Holiday Program
Be at least 18 years old and not yet 31 years old
Fulfil the standards for education, character, and health
Possess appropriate English skills
If you are not applying from Israel, the People’s Republic of China, or the United States of America, you should have a letter of support.
Having not been to Australia on a working holiday visa (subclass 417)
Do not have a dependent child while you are residing in Australia during your visa period
Have enough money to cover your basic needs and purchase a return or onward ticket once your stay is over.

Health & Character Requirements
Evidence of good health or medical tests
Police certificates from every nation you lived in for a year or more over the previous ten years (after you turned 16 years of age)
Education Requirements
Depending on the passport you hold, there are different educational requirements for this visa.
Requirements For A First Work And Holiday Visa In Functional English
The temporary activity visa’s duration is determined by the approved activity:
IELTS band score of 4.5 on average, obtained within a year after filing a visa application
PTE Academic overall band score of at least 30 earned within a year after filing a visa application
Overall Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) test score of at least 147
Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test total band score of at least 32 (TOEFL iBT)
Additionally, you must have completed five years of postsecondary education in an English-language program.
Health Insurance
Every medical expense incurred during the visa holder’s stay in Australia is their responsibility. Therefore, unless your country has a reciprocal health agreement with Australia, you must be covered by the national health programme of that country.
Eligible Family Members
You cannot bring dependent child on Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462).
Your spouse or companion is welcome to go with you, but they will need to apply for their own visa.
