Partner Visa (Subclass 820 and 801)
The Partner visas (subclass 820 and 801) allow those who are married to, or in a de facto relationship with, an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia.
First, the temporary partner 820 visa, which permits the applicant to stay in Australia for two years, is approved. If the candidates want to stay in Australia permanently during this time, they can apply for the permanent 801 visa.

Eligibility Criteria for Subclass 820
When you submit a visa application, you must be at least 18 years old.
You must have a sponsor (spouse/de facto partner) in order to apply for a visa and be in Australia when it is approved.
You must not owe the Australian government any money or have made arrangements to pay it back.
You must be in good health and have character reports
The parent or guardian of the partner or de facto partner may sponsor the applicants if the partner or de facto partner is under the age of 18. However, they must be an eligible citizen of New Zealand, an Australian permanent resident, or an Australian citizen.
Eligibility Criteria for Subclass 801
A temporary partner visa is required (subclass 820)
Unless the connection was terminated under a special condition, you must be in an ongoing relationship with your husband or de facto partner.
You must follow all applicable laws and 820 visa requirements.
If you have an 820 visa and are living in Australia, you cannot have your visa cancelled or rejected.
Limitations of Sponsorships
Ensures that he/she can provide accommodation to the spouse
