Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)
People who are engaged and intend to wed a qualifying citizen of Australia, an Australian permanent resident, or of New Zealand may be given a prospective marriage 300 visa.
The visa entitles the holder to a 9-month stay in Australia during which time they may also apply for a Partner (subclass 820 and 801) visa.

Holders of New Zealand passports are required to advise the immigration officer if their prospective marriage visa is still valid. Otherwise, the officers might issue a category 444 visa, which would ultimately have an impact on the partner visa application process.
Eligibility Criteria for Visa Applicants
When applying and when the visa is approved, you must be outside of Australia.
You must also meet the relationship requirements.
Your fiance or spouse should sponsor you
You must be in good physical and moral condition.
You must pay back any debts owed to the Australian government, or make plans to do so.
You must be at least 18 years old.
Eligibility Criteria for Sponsors
Compliance with the visa’s requirements on your fiance
Obligations to their Australian employer for your fiance
Some visas cannot be held or previously held by you.
You have to be engaged to the visa application.
Family Members
Stepchildren or dependent children may be listed on your application. Once they are granted this visa, your family members can enjoy the same rights and visa restrictions as are applicable to you.
